Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional surname Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist contracted to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, came out on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web including her self issued single Bound. In 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the track "Sweat it out" on the 21st of July. The following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him for some references for Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest on two tracks with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was then released in September. In November, she dropped two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles called One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, then released the song as a solo single for her debut album. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received more than three million views on YouTube during its initial week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
